2002 dodge neon?

can a transmision from a 97 fit in a 2002 if the motor is the same. will it work?

The following transmission were available for the Dodge Neon from 1994 -1999
5-speed NVG T-350 manual
3-speed 31TH automatic

From 2000 -2005 the following were available
5-speed NVG T-350 manual
3-speed 31TH automatic
4-speed 41TE automatic

Chrysler Neon & Plymouth Neon were also available with the same transmission

I do not think so. I have a 2000 Neon and it seems way different from earlier models.
