The ram 3500 never came with a gas engine, the 5.7 liter is the new hemi, it is not exactly a 350 but close. The only engines that ever came in the ram 3500 were the Viper V-10, 5.9L cummins diesel, and the new 6.7L cummins. The 1500 and 2500 started using the hemi in 03, I believe.

I am not really sure about the answer to the question, but knowdastuff don't. 5.7 = about 347 Ci. Dodge did make a 350. The first B engine available in 1959 was a 350. It expanded to 361, 383, 400.
Dodge says their 5.7 is 345 Ci and 345 hp. That calculates to 5.655 l, or rounded up 5.7.

late 04 which equates to 05 model year. jrmech, gas engines were used in the ram 350/3500. optional engines were the 360/400/440. all gassers, plus same engines were used in class c motorhomes from dodge. the viper engine was never used in a one ton. viper engine is aluminum, the v-10 in the truck is cast iron, which came before the viper engine.only truck that has the viper engine is the srt-10.mattl, the cummins was availible in 250/2500 and 350/3500 series since 83, including dually versions. the new ram 4500/5500,which only comes as a dually, only comes with the diesel.

2003 when they changed to the new style heavy duty. The hemi is still the standard engine in the 3500. the deisel engine is an option. In a dually you can only get the 5.7 with 4.10 gears and anti-spin so its not very good on gas.

Never did. A 5.7 equates to a 350 cu. in. engine. Dodge never made a 350. They make and have made for a long time a 360 cu. in. engine which equates to a 5.9 not a 5.7.

Ive heard rumors that cummins is going to make a v8 motor, yet i doubt that.
