the reason i ask this question is because i will be using a universal adapter that does not have a 5 volt setting it has 4.5 then 6 volts would it maybe be the safest wayto set the adapter to 4.5 volts instead of 6 volts what effect if any would .5 volts short of the 5 volts suggested buy the manufacture have or the other choice 6volts 1 volt over the manufactures suggested input any help suggestions greatly appriciated --thanks

I put a cd player in my durango and when i shut off the car the radio presets dont stay, i took the radio back out to re wire it , i put the constant to the constant wire and the switch to the switch wire, but the radio will not turn on unless all 4 of those are touching, i touched them to turn it on and preset a radio station with the key turned, then i untouched them and the radio made 3 dinging noises, i re touched them and the presets stayed, but when i turn the key off its like the constant wire is not constant anymore, can it have something to do with a fuse or something?

I bought an elcetric guitar with a 10 amp speaker great buy for $199.99 I am a beginer but want to know why it doesn't scream like some do it just sounds like a accoustic guiter on a mic basically how do I make it scream like in November rain do I need a bass guitar or do I need to tune it differently it just doesn't seem to riff at all yes I can't play much yet but I want the sound of electric guitars u normally hear.

i like my music loud, there is no dobt about it, but i am amazed at what i here people puting in thier car (3, 4 , even 5 k watts) , is this just for competitions or what? Honestly i think 1000Watts RMS is more than anyone would ever need for loud authoritive tunes, and even at that you could make yourself deaf. i mean why do people put 2 15" L7's in a car? i can understand spending several thousand on a stereo if it brings more quality, but to spend the money on HO alternators, caps, power cells, and such just to gain a few db...a few db past the human threshold of ear pain.... why? is there a good reason? (besides competition) i know some will mention the bragging rights, but why brag about volume and not quality?

how would I set it up so that my rear view camera will come on when I go into reverse? Does it connect to the Head Unit, or the TV tuner? Or do I need another piece?

ok, basically i want to install an amplifier for my 6x9 speakers in my parcel shelf which are not putting out what they could be. i dont really want the hassle of linking up more power/remote/ground cables and im interested in daisy chaining it to my amplifier which is currently powerling my subwoofer. my main concern is that if i do daisy chain them will i lose power on my subwoofer amp? am i better off running completely new wires or will it be perfectly ok to daisy chan them?

but i have a logitech x-230 and recently i flipped the woofer making the magnet out the box instead of in the box....and i want to know if i unphase it if it will hurt it cause it hurts harder unphased....

If a 2 channel amp is only bridgeable to 4 ohms but I have 2-4 ohm woofers, can I get a mono amp thats 2 ohm stable to bridge them too, or is bridging still bridging no matter how you slice it?

Im want to add some L.E.D.s to my car, and I wanted to do it in Parallel, I know in speakers it reduces the impedence of them. I was wondering if it has some kind of similar effect for lights, or if its just a straight wiring and adding a resistor to each of the LEDs. (12v car battery with 470 Ohm resistors for Blue LEDs)

i drive a 1997 mercury sable
i want to purchase 2 subs + an amplifier
i no nothing about car audio n whats behind the stereo...jsut pretty much viewed friends messing around with it
what is the level of difficulty in installing an amp + subs?
is it worth the 65$ to get it done at circuit city or sumplace liek that or is it a rather easy job that i can complete myself?

I have a 2003 Grand Am GT with the monsoon sound system. I am going to put a subwoofer in the back but right now i just want to get the amp in. Can i just have an AMP installed first then later add the subwoofer when i get more $$ to blow? I am also confused with the monsoon system. Do i take out the stock amp? or leave it? I am new with this.

The original stereo/radio we have in the car now aren't working well, plus there is no CD player (only cassette). The radio doesn't catch any AM stations either, and we like listening to sports stations on AM. I was looking for a birthday present for my husband and decided to get him a new one (he can install it himself), but can't find any info on what I need to buy to replace the old one with. Can anyone recommend a stereo system (CD+radio) for 1997 Mercury Mountaineer that is not extremely expensive? Thanks!

My CD is officially broken... well kind of... the volume won't go down & when it will, it goes right back up to 30, the highest level. I also can't turn it off or take the CD out to turn it off that way, so I'm forced to listen to it on full blast all the time. If you know of a way to fix it without having to take it out altogether, that would be ideal. But right now I'm willing to do anything to get that noise gone, so I'm settling with just getting rid of it. But I don't want to electrocute myself, so which wires do I cut & how?

I asked everyone, I have a 1993 Ford Ranger, and i have been searching for the constant 12vt wire, with a multimeter, but i cant seem to find any wires giving anything while the truck is off. Is there anyway a could add a wire, like hook one on my battery, and run it to the stereo, or would the power the battery is giving be to much for the stereo? i have a Sony Cdx-gt100 if that helps at all..................................
Every one told me i could run it from my battery, but i would need to run it through a fuse, if some one could give me a step by step installation, with the parts i would need, that would be greatly appreciated.

I have 4 gauge battery and ground wire in my car right now, i have (2) P2 Punch and a Punch amp right now, i have (2) 15 inch Solobaric L7 (4 ohm) and a Hifonics Brutus BXi 2006D (4000 watt peak, 2000 rms). My question is will the 4 gauge wire work? or do i need to go with 1/0. Also would a capacitator take the job of a new alternator for a while until i get some money, and how much would it cost roughly?
