I put a cd player in my durango and when i shut off the car the radio presets dont stay, i took the radio back out to re wire it , i put the constant to the constant wire and the switch to the switch wire, but the radio will not turn on unless all 4 of those are touching, i touched them to turn it on and preset a radio station with the key turned, then i untouched them and the radio made 3 dinging noises, i re touched them and the presets stayed, but when i turn the key off its like the constant wire is not constant anymore, can it have something to do with a fuse or something?

Most likely the vehicle fuse that supplies the constant power circuit is blown. The circuit may be shared with other constant power devices, like the dome light, cigarette lighter or door chimes. It may not be labeled as a radio fuse in the vehicle's fuse box.

Your best bet is to check all the vehicle fuses, including any fuse box under the hood.

well i would check all the fuses if all is good and still no luck then you can always run awire from the positive post of the battery to the inside of the car to your stereo but make sure you put a fuse somewere on that wire this will be your constant power and the fuse is incase there ever is a short circut then it wont burn your cd player good luck
