I currently have a 4 guage amp kit with 8 guage distribution to my Alpine MRP-M650 powering a 12" Type R and a old Alpine MRV-F307 powering 4 5x7 100 rms speakers. When I install my new Alpine MRP-F550 with 4x90 rms will I need to upgrade my 4 guage to 1/0 or change my alternator which is currently 105 amp. Also should I power the sub amp with 4 guage instead of 8?

I found a sub with built in amp already in the box. Theyre Visonik brand. The has 500w peak power but only 40w rms power. The sub is 500 peak and 250 rms. I mostly listen to classic rock so i dont want my bass to completly drown out the rest but i want more bass and i want the music louder. So does this sound like something i migt want or what.

I am planning to have a custom ported box built for my 2 12" kicker l7 this weekend. I saw this box on eBay let me know what you think.

I might have it built exactly like that one. The problem is it only has one chamber and one vent for both. Do you think this will be a good box? I want my l7 to be loud and boomy. The dimensions will fit perfectly inside my 01 accord trunk. I am open to any suggestions. Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Well ive had my amp and subs just laying around for a while they worked and all and today i tried to hook them up and im not getting any sonund from my subs whats wrong? the subs work i tested them and the amp its one of those amps that you can see through it the light turns on... anyways right aftr i turn it on the protection lights turns on and not a sec later it turns off but no green light whats wrong ??? someone help

Hey Guys,

I just had my 2 10" CVR Kickers installed b y an authorzied dealer today with a ZX400.1 Kicker Amplifer. I noticed as I got home that my right subwoofer hits harder than my left one. I just bought the subwoofers brand new from an ebay authorized dealer new and in the package.

I want to equally have the same bass on the left subwoofer matching my right, without burning up the amp or hurting the subwoofer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Today i was Playing around with my cars audio system just to adjust some things real quick. My music was somewhat loud but thats how most instructions say to tune your speakers, you have to turn it up to like 3/4 full. I was almost done when my neighbor who is kinda old comes over and tells me to turn my **** music down. it had only been 15 minutes and I wasn't listening to rap which i know some people really don't like. it was a country song with some bass in it because i needed high notes too. it was 3:30 in the afternoon and i normally try to think of other people (like don't blast music early in the morning or at night). This is the first time I've had my music loud in my neighborhood and i haven't had a party with loud music. If he would have asked me to turn it down then i would have. Should He have come over and started swearing at me to turn it down?

It is a new stereo, when I turn the ignition it turns on, after a few seconds it turns off. It will take anf eject CDs but does nothing else. I think its the wiring but am not sure.

i have just bought some 12" subs and boxes but the subs stick out less than half an inch my friend said just sand down the back of the box a little bit so they fit.....my question is can i just put some foam or something around the gap so i dont have to sand it down?

I have a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport AWD with an Infinity sound system. The front speakers have stopped working. When you put the fader to the front, all you hear is crackling out of them. Does this mean they are blown, or is it a short at the radio itself? How should I figure out what is wrong? Should I start by pulling the radio out and reattaching all the wires to see if I can get them to work, or is there another way to figure out if the speakers are blown?

right i have two subwoofer in an enclosed box and need an amp my subs specifiactions are:

Power: 100x Rms / 200x Max
IMPP cone
2" Kapton Voice coil
Frequency Response: 30 Hz - 2.5 Khz
Impedance: 4 Ohms
Sensitivity: 90 DB.

So what amp should i buy? and wheres a good place?

also i have no idea what specifications i just typed in so if you can shed some light on that too it would be much apprecitated

I disconnected the battery, and I dont know the code for the reset. Is there a universal code to set the radio? Or does each system have its own code. What I'm try to say is, I DONT WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN CHARGE ME 60 DOLLARS TO RESET MY SYSTEM FOR 2 MINUTES OF WORK. ITS A 850GTL..

Does anyone ever remember a speaker company called toby that built boxes in the 90's? They made a box called a sherriff and a ranger, both boxes sounded extremely loud, even though they didn't pull a lot of watts. Does anyone know about these boxes and what type of setup they were. 1st order, 2nd order bandpass etc...and what sizes/types of speakers were in them....
