I found a sub with built in amp already in the box. Theyre Visonik brand. The has 500w peak power but only 40w rms power. The sub is 500 peak and 250 rms. I mostly listen to classic rock so i dont want my bass to completly drown out the rest but i want more bass and i want the music louder. So does this sound like something i migt want or what.

for the money visonik is not bad.
Watch out for the loaded combos like this, usually they market the peak power as they are doing here as a 500W system, when its acutally only a basically a 50W rms stereo System which will not be loud at all. Id buy indivuial components, this way you get what you want.

I recommend looking into fi SSDs, great daily drivers, throw them in a sealed enclosure and give em rockford power and your golden for rock....I think one ten is great to balance out with classic, so that should be what you go with....who do you listen to? ....Floyd, Led, Van, Moody, ??? I love all music but my roots are classic rock bro. Good luck with whatever you get.

40 watts RMS isn't even going to be that noticeable above your stock system.

For good bass extension, you'll need between 200 watts RMS and 400 watts RMS total.
