I disconnected the battery, and I dont know the code for the reset. Is there a universal code to set the radio? Or does each system have its own code. What I'm try to say is, I DONT WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN CHARGE ME 60 DOLLARS TO RESET MY SYSTEM FOR 2 MINUTES OF WORK. ITS A 850GTL..

I'm thinking the code is something like 420-69 or 69-420 or maybe just 420 or 69. :D

My brother-in-law is a used volvo dealer says if you turn the key on and leave it on for 2 hours the radio will reset itself. You have to have a good battery. Check www.volvoforums .com

Update: Ok I just spoke with my b-n-l and he says all you have to do is bring the radio and VIN to the dealer and they will give you the code free of charge. Then turn on the stereo and if there is EEEE code showing you need to reset the radio before entering the code. Turn the key on and leave the drivers side door open for 1-hour until the EEEE code resets. Then enter the 4 digit code. Good Luck

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

Factory radio you would have to go to the dealership, in your case you need to find a button to reset the stereo to factory conditions. If there is no such button your only other chance is to contact the previous owner and maybe he may know the code for the stereo. Other than that your SOL.

There's no universal code...on some cars you have to remove the radio to get the serial number to get the code. Some dealers keep radio codes in their database for the car when they sell it. Try calling a dealer and if they charge for it, ask why...maybe keep calling dealers to get the cheapest one or go back to the original selling dealer if you are not the original owner. http://www.radio-code.com/Volvo-Pay-Page-radio-code.htm

I always recommend using this little gadget when replacing a battery to keep from having this problem or computer preset problems....

Well unfortunately the only way to get the code is from the dealer. Unless it is a used car and you can track down the previous owner and see if they have the information.
