Does anyone have tips on making burned CD's play in car stereos? My car is a '96 and has a stock CD player. It takes a while of inserting and reinserting the burned CD to be read and play. My friend licks his CD's to make them play, and it works for his car, but it didn't work for mine.

First off watch the video please.

Heres another one.

now judging by these two videos, it looks like it works perfectly as explained, but many youtube users left a comment stating that its a hoax or fake, on the other hand, many others says it works for them and all. one comment that caught my attention is that if you do this, it will mess up whatever is being used to play the music, ipod, computer, stereo. so now im confused. im asking electicians or professional on speakers if this really works. is there anything you have to lose on this?

heres also one more video of how it works or somebody testing it out.

I've been looking for a lighter alternative to MDF for building a subwoofer enclosure, and I read Birch was a good choice-- it's strong but significantly lighter than MDF, but also double the cost. Does anyone know how much lighter Birch is to MDF? 10% lighter, 20%, 50%?

I have some mechanical ability, electrical is not my strong suit. I think a Denali will have more advanced security in it too.

I just had two 5 1/4 infinity speakers installed in both car doors at best buy yesterday. As I got home from work today I rolled up the drivers side window(electric) and at the same time my new drivers side speaker went dead. My car is a '84 bmw and if any of you car audio geniuses could give me some kind of idea what happened you'll forever be the man in my book.

I need a Plain Jane explination of a ground loop.
I am a visual learner and have no visual to learn. so explain it to me for how it looks.

This is MECP study guide explanation:
Ground Loops result when all the components in an audio system do not see exactly the same ground. huh?

Differences in degrees of being grounded are called ground potential. huh?

Again please explain in how it looks to the eye, then explain the deffinitions I just gave you.

Also is a ground loop a bad thing?

(this is for car audio by the way)

I just got a brand new system in my '00 Saturn. I have a 12" Alpine Type-R Sub in the trunk, and it sounds great inside the car. The only problem is outside the car, all you can hear is the rattling of my rear license plate frame. Does anyone know of any ideas (while preserving the look of the frame) to get it to stop rattling. Or does anyone know of any Specialized License plate frames that are rattle-Free?? I have heard of the Dynamat License plate frames, but i do not like how they look and how they say "My stereo is better than yours" or something stupid like that on the top.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am buying a Mazda 3 and I am putting a pretty powerful sound system in it. Should I buy a capacitor or spend the extra money and have a performance alternator put in.
