Do not listen to Altima, you wil not have to remove the stock amp at all. Just leave it alone. But you may have to wire your speakers straight into the stereo though, that hs is correct on. But not hard to do at all. The other thing is that you will not need 4 amps to get the clarity. Granted BOSE is a very highly regarded name in the car audio and home audio world, but you will not need 4 amps to get that quality. Just quality equipment.

Bose is a superior name in audio quality and you installed a aftermarket radio? The world might not come to an end however now you have to spend Lot's of money to approach the quality clarity and cleanness of sound. Clarion made the audio unit and Bose amplified the sound and added sound over noise "bose auto pilot" and you killed off the best features of your audio system. Most times if an owner wants more Bass I recommend sub woofers not a compete radio head. Now if it was more volume you wanted you will get it by taking all the stock stuff out and improving on speakers and as many as 4 amps to Taylor the sound just the way you want it.

I'm pretty sure the stock Bose system came with an amplifier preinstalled. So your aftermarket system is probably sending speaker level signal into the amplifier, for which it was probably not designed, and since you're amplifing a signal that is already heavily amplified, you get excessive hiss.

If you installed this using a wiring harness adapter, the kind you have to splice to your aftermarket system..then you need to purchase a device that will drop speaker level to line level. I know they sell them and i can't recall the other genrric term for them..but i've seen them at wal-mart and best buy.

disconnect the bose amp and wire the speakers directly to your stereo is the cheapest way to go even if your thinking of upgrading your system later on like getting new speakers and a amp with subs your probably going to have to disconnect the factory amp to be able to install the other stuff properly good luck i have a altima too but mine didnt come with a bose system but ive worked on some that haved

bestbuy said what?!?! you can ALWAYS install an aftermarket stereo. but it WILL cost you. of course the total amount will depend on what kind of sound system you want.
