You could buy a power supply that converts 115vac (house current) to 12vdc. 1800 watts at 115 would need a 15 amp circuit to operate and would trip a breaker or blow a fuse on start up if other electrical devices are on the same line. The car amp is not 1800 watts anyway. That would require 150 amps from your cars electrical system and not many can deliver that and still function. The true R.M.S. output of the amp is probably closer to 400 watts. Even that is a stretch for most cars. Don't believe the manufacturers word on the output. True wattage and current requirements are decided by ohms law and you can't get more out of an amp than is put in.

A 12volt power supply capable of supplying at least 150 amps. It isn't going to be cheap or easy to find. If you go with a battery, you'll need a charger and a place OUTSIDE for the battery. Car batteries generate hydrogen gas, which is explosive, when they are charging. Definitely DON'T want to use one inside the house.

You'll need between $250-$300 for a 13.8 volt 75 amp desktop power supply. I accounted for efficiency. ;)
