Heres another one.

now judging by these two videos, it looks like it works perfectly as explained, but many youtube users left a comment stating that its a hoax or fake, on the other hand, many others says it works for them and all. one comment that caught my attention is that if you do this, it will mess up whatever is being used to play the music, ipod, computer, stereo. so now im confused. im asking electicians or professional on speakers if this really works. is there anything you have to lose on this?

heres also one more video of how it works or somebody testing it out.

I think some people just like to see how many others they can sucker into destroying a piece of equipment. If you want to destroy your audio toy forget the plate, foil and penny. they're not needed. The wires they taped to the penny normally transmit current to a voice coil, turning it into an electro magnet which attracts and repels the speaker diaphragm thereby creating sound. One wire goes to the positive output and the other to the negative output of your audio device. When you tape them to the penny it's placing a dead short across the output of your audio device. You can do the same by just twisting the wires together without the penny. Either way does the same thing, it fries the output device rendering the unit worthless. It's just like sticking a hair pin into an electrical outlet, instant smoke. The guys who made those videos have a real weird sense of humor.

Haha, sorry, but that is the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my life. A speaker uses an inductor (coil of wire, voice coil) and a magnet. That "thing" uses possibly some video editing or someone turning on the music when they hit play.

They're fake. If they were actually working, you'd see them vibrating. They don't even have the necessary parts to create the vibration needed for sound. Youtube is full of stuff like this - ever see the one about unlocking your car with a tennis ball?
