i worked on mine yesterday with it connected and 2 wires touched and sparked, i was just wondering what can happen if i keep on working on it with it plugged in, its cuz i am trying to guess wich wire goes to wich wire on my stereo and i am trying to see wichones are used to power the stereo so i keep it on so i kno wich one is for the power

i mean both of the battery terminals are connected

One, you could blow a fuse.The worst you could do is fry a circuit board in your system.

First thing you do is go buy a continuity tester. Place the alligator clip on the wire you want to check, then use the "ice pick" end touch it to any metal under the dash to ground it out. When/if the light comes on, you have a hot wire. If it doesn't come on, try touching other metal or clip on another wire. This way you can leave the battery connected, and you don't risk blowing a fuse. And check your fuses. When the wires touched you created a short and could have blown a fuse. If you want your stereo to play with the ignition off, leave battery hooked up with ignition off then check for a hot wire. Good hunting.

I would disconnect one of the battery cables prior to working
on your radio - so you don't fry it

if one is diconnected and you get a spark - there may have
been a capacitor discharging - -

I would pay the $30 to get someone to put it in for me

The mos important thing is to disconect the red one, which has the electricity, with the black one, you shouldn't have any problem!
