does anyone know how to re-set a J.V.C. car stereo. I took it out of one car to put into another and it will not turn on now. I know you can re-set them but that page in my manual is ripped out.

I just want a rough estimate of the amount of horsepower required to actually spin just an alternator. I'm guessing it's very low but I could be wrong....the application would be for 4-6 fairly high output alternators run off one engine.

Hello, I have a 2001 Chevy S10 with a Delco Electronics factory stereo in the dash. (GM# 16232141 - 1995-1999 Chevy Car OEM Radio/CD Player 1995 - 1999 Chevy Car UNO)

My question is, and I hope someone can answer this, my stereo has a button for “AUX” but I cannot find where the input jack is for this.

Can anyone please tell me how I can connect my mp3 player directly to the stereo so that I can listen to it through the “AUX” button?

I currently listen to it by using an FM transmitter, but it is not as strong as I would like and I often get static or cross-interference from other FM transmitters on other cars as they pass me on the road. I would like to be able to connect my mp3 player directly so that I can avoid all the frustration of using the FM transmitter.

I hope you can answer this question for me.

Thanks!

wouldn't it be nice if manufactures settled on a standard input/output voltage? and how bout a volume control that stops right before distortion.... there are so many questions regaurding gains, and settings, it's almost worse than the almighty "ohm" questions, yet personally i see no advantage to not standardizing? even the lowest voltage levels i believe to have great quality, provided a decent rca is used... am i missing a key reason not to standardize?

I need a guide that tells me how to buy and install a car audio system. I've tried a lot of articles but I need something specific (step-by-step) in easy-to-understand language that I can put together myself.

Ok I drive my moms 1994 toyota camry and the radio sucks! Once you turn it on it is nothing but loud crackling. I was wondering if all that would change if I bought a new radio deck from best buy. I'm just afraid that once I attach the new one it will have the same crackling noise.

okay so i'm putting a new stereo, amp and speakers in my boat and i know i need everything to be marine grade but how many watts is really loud, i'm thinking about 600watts and its MAX is 1500W. i'm thinkin going with this set up:

SUB: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270176412143&rd=1

4 Speakers: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270176545419&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=017
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180170463151&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008

I'd like to know if these speakers are good for what i'm looking for.

I'm wondering if a can just put a non-marine AMP in the boat if its covered up?

I already have the stereo its a sony and only rated for 52w X 4 but that doesnt matter if i buy an amp right?

thanks

Any way to get rid of this? Just to let you know, for the remote wire i tapped into the fuse for the cigarette lighter. it plays fine, i would just like to get rid of the random BOOM when my car turns on. Also, in everyones opinion, what is the best sound deadening material for its price on the market? I know of dynamat, fatmat, eDead (by ED), and roadkill (by Stinger), but I am not limited to these.

thanks much

i have a kenwood amp hooked up to 2 12" mtx subs and a 1.0 farad capacitor. It has works great since i hooked it up about 2 or 3 months ago. The other day i turned my cd player up about half as loud as i normally would and every time the subs would hit the amp would shut off and then turn right back on. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
