There are already DAB radios for cars available but with few worthwhile exceptions (e.g., BBC7) all decent radio stations also broadcast on FM, and Medium or Long wave and there are no plans to switch off the analogue signals in Britain.

DAB has limited range so you need FM reception to cover the 'blank' areas when you travel around.

So in answer to your question - no, not really, unless you want it to.

DAB radios are now available for cars.
A few manufacturers are fitting them as standard or as options in new cars, and many are available from car audio dealers for aftermarket fitment.

There are no plans to turn off the existing analogue radio broadcasts (unlike television) so existing FM car radios will work as they do now for many years to come.
