caps are worthless, but the rule of thumb is for every 1,000 watts use 1 farad. so 0.5 farads for 500 watts is right on target.

good luck.

you would be high quality with 8 gauge wireing. you do no longer desire the cap in any respect nonetheless, that became into an entire waste of money. i'm working a 900.4 amp 450 watts rms and a 5500/a million 3200 watts rms, I have no cap what so ever. I did even though could do the massive 3 improve, yet no cap. as nicely for working 4 hundred watts rms the biggest cap which you may realisticly incredibly have is a nil.5 farad cap, no longer something greater. Rule of thumb is a million.0 farad for one and all thousand watts rms, or 0.5 farad for each 500 watts rms. that's why you may purely have a nil.5 farad cap. yet in all fact you do no longer desire a cap, purely a waste of money. A cap will no longer renounce your headlights from dimming ever, which you will desire to do the massive 3 improve. The cap isn't a paranormal device. if your having your lights dim on you including a cap is going to function yet another stress on your already over taxed electric equipment. can no longer furnish sufficient electric potential for each little thing your working now, throw a cap in there. How is the electric equipment going to cost the cap? via no longer sending ideal electric potential to different contraptions which you will could desire to have working.

Do the Big3 upgrade. No amount of farads will comphensate for an alternator that can't supply the amperage anyway.

I never heard of a capacitor with that much capacitance. I know this doesn`t answer your question. Maybe I missed something. I don`t believe you are going to get a logical answer to this question in it`s present form.

If you have a 70 ampere alternator or better, a cap isn't needed.

yeah its enough i run 350rms and 900 peak i dont have a cap and it just makes the lights flicker a little. .5 cap should take care of that problem.
