If you purchased a floor display unit, the detachable face may have been disabled; but if it was new in the box there shouldn't be any screws to remove. (The only exceptions I've seen have been Dual decks with motorized faceplates; these often come with the detachable face secured with screws).

Some radios have a screw or two that will help hold them in. It is usually on the models that have a motorized flip down feature. I know brands like Eclipse have this and i think a few lower end brands have them as well.

If this is the case then you should be able to look at the back when you flip down the display. You should be able to see a small little screw that is holding the faceplate in. You should be able to get it out pretty easily. Good Luck!!!

May be a bent or twisted piece of metal where the doorknob shaft runs through the latch mechanism. Look closely. you might have to straighten out the bent shaft to get it out. Had this problem with a couple of cheaply made newer style doorknobs in my house. Someone twists the knob too hard and the metal bends.
