I checked a used vehicle through car fax and it has three dates in which the vehicle was serviced. It does not mention what was serviced, just says "Vehicle Serivced." Is there any way of finding out what exactly was serviced or what it means?

I am test driving an 02 Certified Honda Civic tomorrow....

What are the key areas that I should be paying close attention to in regard to the car?

First time buyer, so I have little knowledge about all this. Thanks!

there is a saying that says, give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.Teach a man to fish and you feed him for life.
I am already set in my ways on this topic, but I am curious what others might think about it.

would you rather buy a brand new car and all that entails.such as depreciation, monthly payments, service and maintenance, repairs after a couple years, etc...

or would you rather have the ability to be able to buy dirt cheap cars that are broken and know how to fix them yourself? adding value, having no monthly payments, knowing your vehicle inside and out... etc...

I personally dont trust any car until I have climbed around under it and under the hood and see what is what... that way I know where every creek, rattle, and stuff is coming from... it is like i really know my car and that is a good feeling... i have a few friends that bought brand new cars and said they would never do it again... seeing as they have monthly payments still 3 years later and repairs

My 93 Tercel has a seized up engine, and I don't know if my best option is donation (it doesn't run), scrap, or classifieds.

I'm especially interested in hearing from someone who has bought or sold a car in similar condition.

Thanks!

I am going to be buying a new car soon. I have researched a few that I will be going to look at. I want to avoid the usual car salesmen BS. What should I look out for? What are fixed fee's that arent negotiable? Stuff like that. I will be paying cash so financing is not an issue. Thanks

I am searching for Porsche boxsters, and some of you probably already saw my other question about the topic.

This time, i am wondering how i should go through purchasing a car online (ebaymotors) that is too far away for me to personally inspect. I am going to hire 2 separate maintenance people to inspect it there and test drive it. Clean carfax too. After that, is it safe to say that the car is reliable?

If you get into an accident with a leased car, should you inform the lease holder? If not reported, could that come back to bite you later down the road? Also, does the policy differ with different leasing companies?

I bought it new and financed through Toyota Financial. My credit was pretty bad so the rate is pretty high and I'm paying it on a 5 year loan. The dealer told me that I could go through someone other than T. Financial after 6 mo. of paying on time to get a better rate but I have no clue where to start. I've now had the car for a little more than a year and a half. I don't want to just go to my bank b/c I'd like to find the best rate out there. Thanks!
