I was told that my vehicle was purchased in Canada and because of the change between kilometers and miles, the dealer adjusted my odometer miles, so now my trade-in value is less. Isn't that dishonest? How can I find out more information on this practice?

I've noticed that a lot of car dealerships insist that the salesperson drive the car off the dealership's property. The salesperson then parks the car somewhere and switches places with the customer.

This seems really silly and pointless.

What is the purpose of this?

I have about 5,000 dollars to go. I have someone who wants to purchase my car for about 10,000 dollars (only 4 years old, 30,000 miles convirtible, and $10,000 is about the price what blue book suggests), which, if this is possible, then I want to repay entire car loan back and put rest of them to a new car downpayment. I did all the paper work at the nissan dealer for a 2004 honda odysee mini van with 38000 miles on it. right when i was about to give the down payment i asked to see the carfax. Bamm! there is an accident of the report. Says "colisian with another vehicle. I walked away from the deal last night and told them to keep the paper work in case i come back today. Now i could get another van for about the same price (3000 below retail) with 55000 mile on it. this second van is accross the street at the acura dealer. The price was retail but when i i took the van from with the accident over to the acura dealer they lowered the price to be it. so do i want 1700 less miles or no accident ?

I puchased a truck from a "buy here pay here" establishment with an "as is" warranty. I come to find out that this truck has had its catylic converter removed and its O2 sensor missing and is running rough and loud. Is thier not a law that states a dealership can not sell a vehicle with out a converter if it is supposed to have one originaly? And if so what reprecussions my I have against this establishment?
