Well as mentioned in a couple of your last answers, maybe a SUV is not the best choice because of Insurance reasons.
But to answer your questions i would get something small and good on gas. There are plenty of different "small SUV's" out there. Here is some Ford Escape, Toyota Rav-4, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Compass, Pontiac Aztek (mid size), Mitsubishi Outlander, Honda CR-V, Dodge caliber (more of a crossover), Mazda Tribute, and Mercury Mariner. As for prices of the selections i have named, if your wanting a cheaper vehicle i would look into the ford Escape, Pontiac Aztek, or the Mazda tribute.
Then if all other options fail get a New Beetle...LOL There somewhat cheap, good on gas and CUTE

An SUV, considering the insurance premiums you are going to be paying, is not your best choice. Consider a used Taurus or perhaps the equivalent in a Nissan.

Suzuki's new SUV is nice. However I would recommend a much safer alternative. With 36 miles to a gallon side and front air bags crash worthy Nissan Versa. However you wouldn't want to crash. Get the fully loaded one with Blue tooth & Satilite radio. And still only pay 18,000 dollars.

A Honda CRV might be best, I don't know the price though.
