My favorite would be an Aston DB9 currently I drive a Punto W reg this would be in part ex plus if I can 3 to 4 K any suggestions?

The closest in style to an Aston Martin you'll be able to afford is a Ford Puma (styled by Ian Callum, who also styled the DB7 and Vanquish, when he worked for TWR - see http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=11879 ) - it may be a restyled 1996 Fiesta, but its still a good car.
The earliest R-reg cars are now under £2,000, with the latest 02-reg examples less than £7,000, so there should be one to suit your budget - have a look on AutoTrader (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/ )

u will be very lucky to get 3 to 4 grand px u are lookin at 2 maybe 2500 at very tops sorry but dealers are hard on this small old car not worth a lot id get honda jazz very good spacious economical cars good luck
