you can get for a 10 month old baby, already around 21 pounds. price doesn't matter.
is the cosco alpha omega elite and the safetyfirst and the eddi bauer alpha omeag elite the same?
is that the best or are there better ones, does this one fit in any car?

which is the best convertible car seat?
Depends on your child's height weight, your car

is the cosco alpha omega elite and the safetyfirst and the eddi bauer alpha omega elite the same? YES same company only thing that differs is the fabric.

is that the best or are there better ones, does this one fit in any car? I like the Omega's IF you plan on keeping your child in this same car seat until they are 8 (legal age a child doesn't have to be in a car seat in the state of Illinois) However the I wouldn't use it as a booster many children are a tad bit wider. Are you okay at putting your child as a booster at 40 pounds? The harness on these and most models only hold a child in a 5pt harness until 40pounds.
Britax Marathon holds a child harnessed up to 65 pounds( but watch for the height of this car seat since your child might outgrow the height before the weight on this car seat)
Safety 1st/Cosco also has a car seat Apex 65 holds a child harnessed 65pounds and then converts to a booster seat which in my opinion was the best for my 5 y.o however this one is not for rearfacing

Being that your child is 21 pounds Its the law that your child still be rearfacing until his 1st bday. Their little skulls are not yet fused. So with that in mind I would go with the Marathon or the Omega and keep your child rearfacing as long as possible. I kept both mine rearfacing until they were 18 months old

So when looking for a carseat keep in mind:
Childs weight height
Your car (some carseats have a diffrent angle most cars mave a 45* angle but chaeck and make sure to insure the best fit in your car)
Are you looking for side impact protection?
Are you looking to keep your child in a 5pt harnes as long as possible?
Are you looking for something that will turn into a booster as your child grows?

Britax is supposed to be the safest carseat. They make one with a piece that goes around there head to prevent side impact. They are expensive but supposed to be the best.

safety first do drive around with a baby in a convertible in the first place the sun alone will damage the baby direct sun, and god knows what in the air as you cruising down the highway , bad idea.
