I'm really interested in cars but I don't want to love them just for their looks. Can you tell me what makes a good car? A good engine? What's a good sort of litre thing.. liek 4.2l v8. What's all that about?

Most detailed and interesting=best
I'm only twelve and I love to learn!

the other driver agreed to let me pay damages on a fender bender his car 87-88 datsun, then he calls me up and says he is going to fix it himself (the driveshaft is bent, even though he drove it all around the parking lot, he says he is going to buy the parts and fix himself) and just give him $500.00. should i just pay him, even though this sounds untrue

So last night I was driving on the freeway and my steering wheel just started JOLTING. I had to turn the steering wheel like 30 degrees to the left just to go straight. Needless to say, I immediately exited and since i was 15 blocks from home, I just decided to try to get the rest of the way there. Every time I turned left (and left only), the car would just go CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. I made it literally 1 foot into my driveway (which is a left turn) and then all of the sudden my tire wouldn't turn and my car just got stuck. What's the problem?

My daughter hit a car accidentally on the right from end side.
we decided, the other driver and myself, that i would take car of it out of pocket. he drove his car around a parking lot, backed up went side to side...and then left and went to work

He then calls and says it is the drive shaft bent and it will cost $500.00 to fix, so I tell him just take it in have it fixed and when you pick it up I will put the charges on my cc. He then says no, that will not work becauase he is just going to do it himself from parts from a junk yard equalling $400.00 and 100.00 for himself...so just give him $500.00 and we will call it even...the car is a 87-88 datsun wagon ...all primed gray and showing its age...should I just pay him and call it a day...or look into this farther as I feel he is attempting to extort money from me, rather than just be honest.

I have a 2002 Subaru Outback and just noticed one of the front brakes was grinding. Upon closer inspection, one of the pads was worn down and started grooving the rotor. When I replaced the pads (and the rotor) I found that only the inboard pads were both worn down to nothing, but the outboard pads were like new. I have less than 40,000 miles on the car, more than half of that are on the highway. Isn't this fast for this much wear? Why only one pad worn so much?

My wipers finally thawed out a couple days ago after being frozen in ice, but now both are working incorrectly. my drivers side sometimes works, but when it does it doesnt fully extend, or it overextends and flops over the side of my windshield. the passenger side only moves 2-3 inches. i have no idea what happened, i tried to use them once when they were frozen and my theory is that may have misaligned them or burned out the engine or something. they are thawed out and i cant see any obstructions and i have no problem manually moving them with my hands. this is a 2000 Grand Prix, the blades are fine. any ideas as to what might be wrong or how to fix them?

hi,

i realize this question was recently asked, but i have different criteria. i have come across a 97' SE (hard top, soft, bikini, tow package, many add-ons) for 5grand. 108k miles.

I own a DJ company, and have a 4x6 enclosed trailer that i need to tow. The trailer weighs about 600 lbs.

I am concerned that the pick-up and towing capabilities will be limited with the 2.5 engine.

Is it worth waiting to find a 6cyl and paying the extra money? I'm going strictly through Craigslist and Cars.com in the Boston area.

Happy holidays :-)

Hey everyone..I know i may sound like such a girl....but when i first received the car i had a remote that unlocked/locked and gave me the option to automatic start from the house....with any of the buttons both the front and the back light would flash twice and i could also relocate it better in the dark....it no longer does that....does anyone know why this could be?
PS the brake lights, caution lights, and signaling lights work perfectly.

In Feb, my Xbf wrecked my '01 bmw 325xi, I had state farm insurance at the time (Had them for 22 years !)...They used junkyard parts on my car and now the control arm, ball joint has gone bad...AND it'll need lined up and two new front tires..I'm still waiting to hear from State farm as to what they're going to do about it..The adjuster apparently picked apart my car trying to somehow blame the part failure on me...The owner of the shop that did the work is almost as angry about it as I am because he didn't want to use the junkyard parts to start with !

I guess my question is, if State farm does'nt want to pay for all the repairs, what can I do ?

we redone the breaks, I had to replace the drivers side caliper, and we bled the breaks, well the next day the breaks seem to go almost all the way to the floor(they did that while bleeding them as well). They seem to hold pressure for a few, but it seems they go about an inch from the floor......Anyone??? Thanks in advance!!!

A pushback tug is a small truck- still it can push/pull an aircraft which is much heavier than the small truck. the aircraft naturally requires a large force even for ground movement (just for its weight), while flying the high powered jet engines are used. How such a force is generated by a tug without using high power engines like those in the aircraft ? Please explain the technical aspects in brief. Address of a suitable website may please be given if available.
