I am living in Connecticut state. I have few guests at home.
I need to take them around city. We are in total 4-adults,1-kid and 1-infant. Can we all adjust in a car with 4 passengers at rear seat (1-infant seat, 1-kid with seat belt and 2-Adults).
Will I be ticketed for doing so? Pl advise

Ticketed - probably not. Cited if anything else happens - probably. In Texas it turns out that only front seat passengers must have seat belts on if adult, but kids must have them everywhere in the car.
Maybe rent a car (save over weekend and holidays if you ask from Enterprise) and all have belts and be more comfortable.

1 seat belt is required for each passenger. You will also need the proper safety seats for the infant and possibly the kid (depends on the age of the kid...may need a booster or carseat as well). If you have a car with the "bench" seat in the front, then you would have 6 seat belts. You could put the two kids in the back seat with an adult in between and then the other 3 adults in the front. If you have "bucket" seats in the front, you will need alternate transportation.

Now, having said that, although it may be legal with the bench seat situation, it may not be comfortable.

You should always wear your own seat belt when you are riding in a car. A seat belt will not work properly if you share a seat belt with someone else. A lot of children have been hurt in car crashes because they were riding on someone's lap, so you should never sit on someone's lap while riding in a car.

Many of todays cars also have an air bag. Air bags help to keep adults safe when there is a crash. The air bag comes out of the dash to keep a passenger from getting hurt. Air bags come out of the dash very fast and can be dangerous for small children. If you are under 13 years old the safest place for you to ride in a car is in the back seat, with your seat belt buckled.

There is a law that says everybody who rides in a car must wear a seat belt. If you do not wear a seat belt, the driver of the car could get a ticket. The driver of the car would not be happy if he or she got a ticket because you did not wear your seat belt.

Only one passenger for each installed seat belt, including the one in the infant seat. If your car is not big enough, you should consider renting a larger vehicle for the time your guests will be visiting.

Every passenger needs their own seat belt. If you have enough belts, you're cool.

Maybe pool resources and rent a mini van, or a 2nd small car?
