I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and It Starts fine but when I Shift From Park it completely Shuts off? What could be causing the Problem.? Thank You

The first thing that comes to mind, is the AIS motor. This regulates air flow to the intake manifold when the rpm's drop. If it is to slow to response or doesn't respond at all, then the engine will die when placed in gear.

My dad used to have a 1996 jeep cherokee country, and this would happen alot, and then it became intermitent, but it would run if he gave it a little gas from park to whatever then it would be fine
