Hi,

I'm a potential Vespa scooter buyer. I live in East Bay, California and work in San Francisco, California. The distance is around 30 miles, and most part as you can imagine is highway (includes crossing a bridge). Can I ride a Vespa scooter on a highway? And are some certain Vespa scooters highway legal? I tried to find some information on the internet, but most people told Honda is the best choice for highways. But the thing is I really don't like the look and feel and the idea of Honda scooters. Can you please inform me about the highway/interstate use of Vespa scooters? Rules and Regulations?

The models I'm planning to buy is in the range of 150cc to 200cc. And the potential highways I will be riding it will be 580 East/West, 880 and 101 South/North. This includes crossing either Bay Bridge or San Mateo Bridge (Maybe Dumbarton Br)

Thanks,

Dane

I've heard & seen "K"Rails along construction sites. How did the term come about? When you look at them they do not even resemble a"K"

I'm having poor idle (not horrible, but definitely not as smooth as it should be) on my 89 LeSabre with 60k on the motor (3800 Series 1), 150k on the transmission (automatic 440-T4).

I have the following setup:
-Delco Type 2 coils (from a junkyard, but tested goo)
-Duralast 8mm plug wires from Autozone with about 15k miles on them
-NGK Iridium plugs with less than 10k on them, gapped to .060 as per factory for the 3800
-Flowmaster single in, dual out muffler
-High flow cat converter
-K&N high flow cone air filter
-good fuel pressure

So I'm thinking that I either have a weak coil or my plug wires are just too dinky to take the load of the Type 2 ignition system.

So which should I check first? Which might I consider replacing first? I'd opt for either thicker plug wires or higher output coil packs.

Or is there something I should check?

Thanks for suggestions :)

as an example, here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the going price for regular is between $3.25 to $3.50 per gallon, how is it in your town? I thought this would show the wide variety of prices around the world, what do you think?

I'v just had a quote of £320 + £120 for a grey door to have the grey door sprayed black and then fitted on to my car. So it will total £420 to have a second hand doorsprayed and fitted. This seems a lot to me does anyone know how much it should cost.

I changed the thermostat in my car about 3 months ago because it was causing my car to seriously overheat. I switched it out, flushed the radiator and put in new antifreeze. Now the car, I noticed yesterday, will start overheating if I'm idling for too long. Turning on the heat doesn't affect it but if I accelerate it brings the temp back down. The heater also won't blow hot air when the temp starts creeping up like maybe the thermostat I bought is defective. Any suggestions? Please don't tell me I have to buy another thermostat cause it was a b*tch to take the old one out. lol.

Hello! Im a 5ft 2 petite lady who has been riding bikes for most of my life (all 22 years heehee) and i have just passed my test.

I currently own a Jinlun 125cc which is a crusier. Its big, but not fast.. and as my husband has just bought a Yamaha Fazer 600cc i need something to catch up!
I have to be able to touch the floor easy, but as im only little it cant be too heavy either, as i'll drop the thing! I want to move away from crusiers more to a road bike, i love the look of the Fazer/ Ninja/ CBR.
If anybody has an idea of what would be great i'd appciate the help!
Thanks, Nicole

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus, and while driving I feel a light pulsating, vibrating, shudder feel coming directly from my accelerator. the car doesn't shake or vibrate, it is coming form the pedal only...could it be bad tires because they sound really noisy while driving? Or could it be something else ?

We live in Georgia, USA.

My folks are considering turning in their 2005 Ford Focus. They are some three months behind on the payments.

They asked if they could turn in the car to the dealership where they bought it, and were told that they may do so. But, they were told that they would STILL have to pay the remaining balance owed!

My parents got ripped off BIG TIME with this car. The car is worth maybe 12K BRAND NEW. As it sits now, the car may be worth 6 or 7 Grand.

They have made about two years worth of payments, but they STILL OWE like 10G's on the blasted thing.

Is there anything they can do?

Could they sell the car to Carmax? Will Carmax buy the car without my parents having the Title? The Title is at the bank. My parents could furnish the Title if Carmax buys the Focus, and my parents in turn pay off the balance. But would Carmax be willing to do this?

How much would Carmax say that their car is worth?

Any ideas on what we can do to preserve the car?

I found several containers in mom's unheated detached garage. They've probably been out there anywhere from 5 to 10 years. Would it be okay to put it in my gas tank?

I'm a big intelligent guy who looks like he *should* know about cars, however-I only know how to drive them and have no clue what goes under the hood. Thus, I get charged $75 for a battery pan or some such other nonsense everytime i go for a knock or a ping. I have spent thousands, only to get laughed at later by people telling me how overcharged i was.

Any ideas? Other than slaughtering the shifty mechanics who just use my extra cash for pay-per-view wrestling?
