cheap or free ways to gain power gmc 4x4?

i am looking for cheap or free ways to gain power and save gas milage in my 95 gmc 4x4 it has the 5.7L 350 motor

Sorry..Not likely to pick up much gain versus price paid to offset the higher economy unless you're going to keep it for some years....maybe. Most mods will only net a couple more MPG. Only recommendation is to keep the tailgate up....yes, it does increase economy by building up an air cushion in the back aand allowing air to pass over the truck easier and not create drag. Keep tire pressures at recommended levels and get a good tune-up. Avoid any excess weight in the box. Keep speeds low or around 55 mph on highway...higher speeds are wasteful of gas especially on boxy trucks.
