I hear it all the time: buy American. American this, American that. We have xxx.

But after quite possibly thirty years of that strategy FAILING, why do American automakers and their ilk still try and sell cars based on rhetoric, not the car itself?

Where I am coming from with this is that yesterday I was looking at some used car lot, checking prices, and after talking with a sales person for not a minute he said "well you should buy American." No no, nothing about the car, nothing about me, the person forking over $20,000 for a drive way decoration that moves every now and then.

Looking around, I again see more of it online. Overpaid UAW people that go around dissing Japanese and German cars as "Jap Junk" and such. But even when I go to Japanese websites, I almost never see workers from there, even in companies with problems, doing the same diss-work. No, they are more interested in the cars than the rhetoric.

Why are American automakers and co not more like that?

I have a 1980 Corvette. It had blown speakers so I took it to the Mobile Audio in town. The front dash speakers changed out just fine for something comparable. The rear speakers have proven difficult.

Mobile Audio told me that there aren't any companies that make speakers to fit old Corvettes - the magnets are too long. Right now I have the speakers in boxes in the back.

I'm thinking about just taking them out and leaving the rear speakers empty. Someone told me if it is done right, I would really only need the front speakers anyway.

Any thoughts? Where I can get speakers that will fit, or how to run the sound system to utilize just the front two and still get good sound?

I have a Pioneer deck installed, no sub or amp.

I want a bright green Jeep Wrangler but I've only seen two. I looked at the color charts both this year and last and there was no bright green color.

We moved here in November because he got a job in San Francisco. In December the company he moved across the country to work for ran out of funds. We struggled to to pay rent and buy food for the family until now, he got a great job in Sacramento. We need to register his car in CA. We know it is over due. He works Mon-Fri, can I register it for him? I am on the insurance policy but not the title. The DMV is open on Sat once a month and we just missed it. Suggestions anyone?

What factors contribute to different airplane trails?
Some times the trails criss-cross across the sky and seem to last forever, other times I can watch the trail fade shortly behind the plane as it passes.. and still other times I see planes with no trails at all.
I'm guessing either differences in the atmosphere or differences in engine cycles... can anybody educate me, please?

Are there any tricks or anything that will give me a little bit of an advantage, or are there any things the testers usually like to see?

I'm taking my test in California. I don't know if that makes a difference or anything though haha.
