I lived in Dallas for the past 7 years...I have always bought brand new cars and always had a TX license....But if it is used or new I would think that as long as you have a license from somewhere in the state you should be OK ...but I'm not sure ..maybe call the dmv.. good luck

No, you do not have to have a driver license to be an owner of a car. You do need to be eligible to get insurance on that car, and that will require a driver license, unless you make a statement that the car is not driven, only garaged.

In Texas you do not have to have a driver's license to own a car. You must have insurance to register it, but a driver's license is not a requirement for insurance either.
