I read this about two months ago and found it very interesting, it is based on this guy doing it to see if it really works. Of course, it dosnt. A 12v motor can not provide enough cfms to do anything, maybe 1 horsepower. Read it and believe!! Good luck!!

I tried this once - it was terrible. Electric blowers can't compress the air very well, and use a lot of power - meaning that the alternator is taking a fair bit of power from the engine. It's best to find a power source that is currently being wasted - like exhaust gasses (this is why the correct name for a turbo is actually "turbo-supercharger - meaning a supercharger that runs off a turbine.) Remember, blowing the air into the engine isn't enough - it has to actually compress it, and do it faster than the engine can take that air away. Even turbos use about 10% of the engine's power just to run it - imagine how powerful (and heavy) the electric motor would have to be.

Good luck!

You mean take power off the engine to run a generator to run an electric motor that runs the supercharger instead of just using the engine to run the supercharger in the first place? Why would anybody do something that dumb?

as far as i know that does not exist, but i have thought of it many times and i have even made a proto type. the main problem that i have is i can not move enough air for anything much larger that a lawn tractor size motor and even at that the perforce was well lets just say unsatisfactory at best. i was good from idle to about 2200 rpms then the power died off way to fast. i am not saying that some one can't do it , i am just saying that i have not been able to do it yet with any kind of luck.

No, I have not. But I am not convinced that a little electrical motor connected to my intake can produce sufficient boost. Not to mention that on the box it says that the unit cannot be operated for more than 30 minutes.
