GARRGH!!!!!!!

I was in a stationary queue waiting for car in front to turn right when a car hit me from behind, the car was travelling at 50mph according to driver ( " I was only doing 50" ). My car a fiesta ST had the boot completely totalled, even the spare wheel was ripped out leaving a large hole in the boot floor, and the other car an astra had the front end stoved in. The driver of the astra has admitted liability and her insurance company have said that they will pay out. however i was covered by Fords 1 week free insurance, they have said that they want to repair the car, even though i have told them that i will not drive the car again, as i will not feel right in the car after it has been involved in a major accident, plus i will have to declare the accident when it comes to selling it. Do I have to have the car repaired or am I entitled to a new car as none of this is my fault?

I have a 1994 Nissan Maxima. There is a noise when I turn right, but never when I turn left. It kinda sounds like a clicking noise or like if I am running over an aluminum can almost. If I turn slow or wide, I won't hear it, but if I turn fast or narrow, I hear the noise. I replaced the rack unit because it had a leak, which got rid of the grinding noise, but not this noise. It has plenty of fluid, so it's not that either. A friend told me it could be the cv boots, but they are not sure. What do you guys think it could it be?

On Monday morning, I drove there to get an ESTIMATE for brakes on my old '93 Toyota Corolla. I made it clear that I didn't want any work done...just an estimate. I refused the 1st estimate of $845, which they then decreased to $511, which I still wasn't willing to pay for an older car. Then I found out I couldn't leave b/c they had taken ALL 4 TIRES OFF THE CAR, stripped my car of all of its brakes AND put air in the line. THEY then refused to put the car back the way I drove it in. In fact, they told me that if I tried to drive it, they'd call the state troopers & tell them I was driving an unsafe vehicle! I had to walk to work in my 3" heels where I wrote up a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, as well as Meineke's HQ. I never signed any agreement with them. Short of suing them, is there anything else I can do? A friend of mine helped me push the car of their lot and onto street parking so as not to get towed. (This is what happens when you're a woman)

come to an intersection. Green light. Drive through. Your making sure no one is crossing. You have a car behind you. An all the sudden to your left. There are people crossing traffic. Not in your way. But you slow down just in case they come in front of you. But you don't let them cross. Because your sort of stuck coming off an intersection, and a car behind you. Could you get in trouble; for not letting someone cross a crosswalk if a cop saw you? Thanks for the info.

This is a subject I really would like some help on. If anybody knows where I can find a 1978 or '79 Pontiac Trans Am somewhere around Kentucky, I would greatly appreciate it. I've been looking for one for ages and just haven't had much luck.

Hi, my engine light came on ( service engine soon) so I bought a diagnostic tester and it tested with no problems on the vehicle. My friend told me to remove the negative battery terminal/reconnect and that would turn off the light. This is just a regular maintenance light. It this true?

I had to have my Camaro towed home yesterday because it died. It would only idle, and die when it reached about 2kRPM. I found a vacuum line unhooked and reconnected it, which made it start (reluctantly) and it will now rev all the way up. If you stomp the gas, however, it will die. As you accelerate it will cut out and it has a great deal of lost power.

The disconnected vacuum line ran to the back of the motor, to the EGR valve I think. There was also a disconnected line that went from the exhaust-to-smog-pump line and into the brake booster. I reconnected that one also.

What could be the problem? The car ran perfect except for low oil pressure (from 0 to 8 pounds at idle) which we suspected as the sender because mechanical gauge showed normal pressure. The day it died the oil pressure was normal with 18 pounds at idle, 40 at 2k RPM, and it was also a bit harder to start (usually it starts right up, that day the engine had to turn over at least once before actually starting.)

I've got a 93 Mazda Protege 4 speed auto with a shifting problem. It occurs when going from 2nd to 3rd gear. When the problem happens, the 2-3 shift has a long slipping feel to it and the hold light will start flashing. I checked for trouble codes and code 62 came up, which I believe indicates a 3-4 shift solenoid problem. The thing is, this problem doesn't always happen. Sometimes the car will go for days without a problem, other times within 10 minutes the problem will pop up. The transmission fluid is up to the proper level and doesn't look or smell burnt. Will changing the fluid and filter and using some Lubegard take care of the problem, or will it require servicing? If it did need servicing, do you know what is involved in fixing the problem, and possibly how much it would cost?

2004 Blazer has recurring "check engine light" problem with only 33,000 miles on it. Each time it happens the dealer sells him a new gas cap and resets the light. He's already bought 4 new gas caps, and now the light is on AGAIN. Can anybody tell us what the problem really is, and how to fix it? Thank you very much!
