Went to a car dealership about a month ago and financed a car. We found out that the car has some kind of transmission problem (my husband hears a noise when he drives it, and he was a mechanic. The dealership told us to bring it back and said they would cut us a check for the downpayment of $1000. Well, when we brought it back in they checked it out and said they didn't hear any kind of problem and they said they were keeping $750 of the downpayment because we used the car for 25 days. They said 20 cents a mile and 20 dollars a day. I don't think they should be able to do that. What should we do to be able to get all of our money back. We didn't take the check for $250, we just left because we don't agree with it. We live in North Carolina and the car dealership is Southern States Dodge, Mazda
Thanks a bunch.

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina Monte Carlo LS (3100 engine). There is only 25,000 (not a typo) miles on it. The car is estimated to get 20MPG city (official goverment estimate). I did a gas mileage test and it is only recieving 15.45 MPG, that is a 23% decrease from the estimated mileage. What could be the cause of such a low gas mileage (i know some trucks get better milage)?
I know I should check the spark plugs, air filter, O2 sensor, and all that. But is there a more specific cause it could be? I know the Check Engine Soon light comes on and three different places have confirmed that the gas cap has a leak (preasure seal cracked or something) and that's whats causing the light to come on. Could a damaged gas cap really decrease milage that much? Any suggestons, and/or, past experiances (especially with a similar car) would be greatly appreciated.

We will be visiting Disneyland with our 18 month old daughter and traveling by charter bus from LAX to our hotel in Anaheim. We will not be travelling in a car at all, only charter buses and possibly a taxi. Are we required by law to bring a car seat for the charter bus? Is it even possible to attach the seat (as there usually are no seatbelts in charter buses)?

I need schematics of ships, like blueprints. It can be any kind of cruise ship. I'm planning to write a story about a ship and I need to know specific info about the ship such as:
How thick is the hull of the ship?
How many floors does a normal cruise ship have?
Are all the doors in the ship air-locking?
What is the ship security like?
Is walking through the ship hectic (lots of people)?
What was your cruise like?
What are the "rules" for a sinking ship?

I'd appreciate an expert opinion. E-mail me at pineapple20991@yahoo.com

I was hurt in a car wreck - lots of neck pain. Who should I go to for help? There are two questions - which doctor is the most likely to actually help me, and the other thing is will I be able to claim the medical expenses back? Can I see both and expect the auto insurance to pay?

I have a 1995 lexus sc400. I just replaced the alternator about a month ago and now my headlights and stereo cutoff while I'm driving. They cutoff and the turn back on, also when I tried to lock my car door with the automatic lock button it wouldn't lock, I had to shut the door and lock it with my key. Does anyone know what the problem could possibly be? My friend told me it was the serpentine belt is that true?

2000 Pontiac Montanta just bought, and check engine oil has come on. They told me at the shop that it just had oil change and that it is programmed to show that light at certain mileage readings? Does anyone know if that is true about this car? Thanks

It is recommended that you rotate your tires after every other oil change.

I don't rotate my tires, being that the fronts wear quicker, I replace them, then when they wear down I move them to the back and put two new front ones on.

I mean , Having your tires rotated every 6 thousand miles can get more expensive than buying tires.

Do yo agree?

My father-in-law recently died in a horrible car accident and has two new cars that he purchased within the last year. The family, especially my mother-in-law (who is unempoyed), is worried that the debt will fall on them.

NOTE: No one else was on the car loan or the title, nor was there a co-signer.

Does anyone know if what happens, in the state of Oregon, when the borrower on a car loan dies? I was hoping we could just return the car to the bank and call it even, since no one else is on the loan or title. I think it's ludicrous for the bank to go after the family!

If you're familiar with this issue, please feel free to contact me with any helpful advice. Thanks!
