On my Nissan Pulsar window frame there is a little black tab that seems to have no use - any idea what it is for?

i will then let it cool down, and it will restart. only to die again at 170. Any help will be greatly appreciated,

I just bought a 1994 Acura Integra. Does anyone know some auto shops I can go to to check up my car too see if there is anything wrong with it. I wanna check everything...battery, brake, transmission, electrical...and all that jazz. I just wanna make sure there's nothing wrong with it

I like gas tanks to be on the driver's side so I don't have to walk around the car when I"m by myself and pumping gas (yes, I AM that lazy). Is there a real reason for gas tanks to ever be placed on the passenger side? My husband thinks it might have to do with safety during wrecks.

2006 kia spectra5 it has 150 miles on it, came home from a 60 mile road trip, stopped by the pharmacy and when i took off the car temp gauge shot up to hot, and there was no hot air coming from vents, im freaking out... i bought this car 2 days ago... help.. anyone with any clue as to what the problem could be???

The radiator, water pump and upper and lower hoses recently burst in my 1988 190E MB, with no warning, and I had it all replaced by a mechanic the next day. Upon the recommendation of my regular mechanic, I specifically asked the mechanic who worked on this problem to use one of the specific antifreeze/coolants "DNR" or "Xerex Gold", and he agreed to do that, but when he had to add "more" to it the next day (I hadn't driven it but a short distance the night before and it "ran hot" only one night after the work was done), I noticed that he was using a "green" one by Proline. I asked him why he was using that, and he said that it doesn't really make any difference whether you use the one he was using or one of the 2 specifically made for MB radiators. I was a bit intimidated, and I let him put the Proline in my car against my "better" judgement. The car ran hot again, and only after driving it approx. 1 mile. I called him today, and he said that the thermostat is sticking. What to do?

Whenever we have low temp's like 20 degrees F or below, the news people report that you should get a full tank of gas because there may be a possibility of an almost empty tank freezing. Is this true? I really don't want to get out in the cold to fill up my tank.

I had a new mailbox I was hauling in my car about a year ago (bad idea) and the paint was apparently still wet and got on my seat. Is there anything that will take it off without fading the seat color?

I am searching for Porsche boxsters, and some of you probably already saw my other question about the topic.

This time, i am wondering how i should go through purchasing a car online (ebaymotors) that is too far away for me to personally inspect. I am going to hire 2 separate maintenance people to inspect it there and test drive it. Clean carfax too. After that, is it safe to say that the car is reliable?
