what is the little black tabs are on a nissan pulsar window frame? 2002 model?

On my Nissan Pulsar window frame there is a little black tab that seems to have no use - any idea what it is for?

Those black guides help the glass up into the window channel. Slowly raise the glass just short of the guide and wiggle the glass pane in and out of the frame it is this looseness that can get the glass on the outside of the channel. Hope this helps...
