if your talking about the engine, it stands for short block and long block for rebuilt blocks with and without the head :)

SB= Shortbed typical is 6 foot lenght.
LB= Longbed 8 foot lenght

would have to say since its a pick-up they refer the long bed (lb) and short bed (sb) ... just a guess

older school (pre 1998 I beleive it was) came in either a short bed regular cab, a extended cab short bed, or a long bed regular cab (built on the super cab frame)
My guess is older model asking if it's sb (short bed) or LB (long bed) for that reason
