Hi,

you may have read some of my other questions regarding ships...i have another!

Im preparing a report on emergency actions on board the ships bridge, as an officer. Im after information regarding main engine failure including, What alarm goes off, the possible dangers and what an officers actions should be in this scenario.

I understand there are certain publications i can get this information from but i have limited access at the moment so any help you could give would be great!

I have the 95 mazda millenia that I posted the previous question about it running like an old truck. Over the past couple of weeks I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix my car which I take very good care of by the way and it turns out I got some bad gas from a station where I have filled up every week for the past two years which in turn clogged or damaged the number 2 fuel injector which is effecting the cylinder causing the car to misfire. How much will that cost me to repair? And another thought, is it possible to get the gas station where I purchased the gas to assist with these repair costs? Or am I just asking too much?

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, and it has been working terribly lately. While pulling out to pass on the highway last week, it stalled out completely and died. It starts up almost every time afterwards, but has been stalling more frequently. It stalled 6 times on the way home from the grocery store the other night. It had been sputtering and losing power previously to this, but these recent stallings are a new occurrance.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I asked one question yesterday and then it seemed to have been the problem, so here is what I wrote yesterday: " 99 Ford Taurus, 115,000 miles on it and I have a check engine light on. (I asked a few weeks ago about a tie rod on it...lol) But now my defroster/AC/heater doesn't really work. I am going through antifreeze like nuts and it leaks to the ground. There is also a smell (I think it's the antifreeze) in the car, so I make sure to keep a window open at least a crack..."

My updates and added information - yes there is dampness underneath the passenger side floormat (therefore the conclusion of the leaking heater core...) BUT now I have a new problem, which I figured it was still okay to drive so I took it to the store this morning, about 3-4 miles away. On my way back the car started getting white vapor/smoke coming from the vents. I thought it was just the antifreeze until I smelled something burning!! Therefore I concluded it was smoke! Now what is this about??

This question arose after reding Dan Brown's book Angels and Demons. The jet in the book is real and if you were to go from Australia to Europe FOR EXAMPLE is there any chance that you would be able to live the same hour twice? Taking into account the different time zones?

I've Maruti 800 97 model car with a/c. The problem is my car ac is not effective. It gives less cooling ... infact no cooling...the person inside will keep sweating though the a/c is working. What should be the reasons. Should i replace the Ac Gas ??? or is there any other problem comes for less cooling effect of A/c ?? Should i make a self test to find out the exact problem with my car ?

this sounds stupid, but i get out of first now with no problem but am now working on making the transition smoother. When i shift to second, 3rd, 4th, 5th. I release the gas and push down the clutch. then i shift, let go of the clutch and accelerate. after shifting should i let out the clutch slowly as i accelorate? or should i let go of the clutch completely then accelorate?

I've noticed on cold days that my heater starts blowing "cold" air while I'm at a long red light or in a long line, with my engine running. Is this the thermostat? While I'm cruising down the freeway, it blows nice and hot. I can't believe a 2004 would already have heater problems. Of course I don't know how it was taken care of before I bought it in July. I guess in the heat of the Texas summer I didn't even check the heater!

Oh, and also - the brakes are starting to sqeek!!! I hope I didn't get burned. I traded in a "wonderful" 98 Nissan Maxima that never gave me a single problem since day one of it's life. I wish I'd kept it, now. I like the Altimas, but this one seems to be having problems quite early. Man I tell ya, that Maxima was a darn good car and power? yea. I was just burned out and wanted something "new" & stylish. Any advice?? Please don't tell me not to buy Japanese. I love Nissan!!
