I've noticed on cold days that my heater starts blowing "cold" air while I'm at a long red light or in a long line, with my engine running. Is this the thermostat? While I'm cruising down the freeway, it blows nice and hot. I can't believe a 2004 would already have heater problems. Of course I don't know how it was taken care of before I bought it in July. I guess in the heat of the Texas summer I didn't even check the heater!

Oh, and also - the brakes are starting to sqeek!!! I hope I didn't get burned. I traded in a "wonderful" 98 Nissan Maxima that never gave me a single problem since day one of it's life. I wish I'd kept it, now. I like the Altimas, but this one seems to be having problems quite early. Man I tell ya, that Maxima was a darn good car and power? yea. I was just burned out and wanted something "new" & stylish. Any advice?? Please don't tell me not to buy Japanese. I love Nissan!!

i have a nissan maxima from 94 and my brother has one from 05 and they both do the cold air blowing in the heat cycle... it is a therimstat problem but don't let it freak you out... my air system went crazy one time last summer... the air stayed on high the whole time and never turned off... all you have to do is take it to the company you bought it from and ask them to check the system, but if you worried about the money ask a friend in the junk yard bussiness to check the car and see if they can get you a different one from another car... never throw away parts... you may need them even if they don't work properly... haveing a part that is half *** is better than haveing a none working part... the brakes... umm, get some one to take a look at them, some nissan cars had alluminium breaks put on them... and they squick for the first time in the morning... i hope i helped... and please mail me back when you get all your problems solved, i'd love to know so i can help all us nissan lovers!!

sounds like you may have an air pocket in the cooling system, some night park on a slant so the rad. cap is the highest point on the system next morning open the cap , start and warm up the car and have someone hold the throttle at 2000 rpm while you fill the rad. and put the cap on, then fill the reservoir and let your assistant reduce the revs. you should also get an idea of how well it is circulating if it seems slow you may need a pump. also i read your comment to the 'vette with the brake problem , what is with this " just a girl " bs.? you gave a great answer , don't limit yourself , women can do anything men can.be proud. ps. i have just instructed you to overfill the cooling system, so it will "puke" some coolant when it re-adjusts itself and chaces out the air , so if you see coolant on the ground within a few days of doing this dont worry , just keep an eye on the coolant.

the main in all threat undertaking is the heater middle. I artwork as an assistant supervisor at a restore keep and had a vehicle are available in right this moment with an analogous undertaking. while the vehicle is working, there is adequate tension in the cooling device to maintain the air flowing in the path of the heater middle, yet as quickly because of the fact the engine slows, the air pass decreases inflicting the air to experience cooler. maximum in all threat the warmth you're feeling is coming from the engine, no longer the heater. Take it to a keep and function them do a tension attempt to make constructive. solid luck!
