'97 Dodge Grand Caravan died last week, lights went dim, wipers stopped working etc, battery light came on and van died. Had it towed, my mechanic tested the alternator and said it was good, battery was a little low on H2O, had it filled, cleaned connections...battery tested good. There was a loose tension rod and that was replaced along with the belt. Van ran fine for 3 days and now battery light is back on...any ideas? My mechanic thinks it could be the computer or a bad/loose wire, I really don't want to pay for a computer in this van if that is not what it is...any trouble shooting I can try myself, I am not very mechanically inclined ;-)
Thanks.

I got a fix it ticket to take off my tint on the two side windows.

So i peeled off the tint 2 days ago but i still cant take off the glue left over from the tint.

Right after i took off the tint. I tried two different brands of "Goo Be Gone" (stuff that breaks down glue). and i tried washing it with soap. and i tried using ammonia also.

niether of those worked. so im looking for some tips that work. thanks in advance.

The car is a Nissan Altima. Pretty much when I bought it someone had put the lug nuts on backwards before me. I drove the car for a couple thousand miles. I went to sears to try to get my tires replaced. Before they even started on my car the guy told me that the lug nuts were put backwards on the wheel. He said the steel wheel has to be replaced as well as the lug nuts. He said depending on the situation the steel studs may have to be replaced to. He told me that the wheel holes gets crossed or something like that. I removed the lug nuts at home and found the hole where the taper end of the nut goes into appears pretty good condition. Each hole was raised up like normal. I put all of them back properly and they fit well. I don't know if the wheel has to be replaced or not. Is he just yanking my chain!!!!!

I just took my Clio 182 for its first service at 18 months, and 12,000 miles. Before the service according to the trip computer, I consistantly got 34.5 mpg. In the 150 miles I have done since the service, I have only managed 31.5 mpg. Has anyone else experienced this? Is therea logical explanation, or has the garage done something wrong?

I am planning to buy the new Nissan Altima 2007 2.5 S model but i found out that ABS is not standard but optional on the car. So that got me into thinking whether ABS is a must have or a good to have option. I had a honda civic before and i have roughed it a lot but never lost control, it didn't have ABS on it.

Let me know your answers keeping in mind the Altima.
Thanks

One thing I have heard mentioned in the past by mechanics that car's, notably cars that were made in the eighties by american auto makers were engineered....to break down after a certain milelage...usually around 100K miles. Can anyone verfiy this or is this rumor just a product of the piss-poor automobiles produced in that era?

Please select ony 1 -more than enough for all, I'm sure- and give reason. Be specific, not something like "lousy drivers". After much thought and an inward vote on this I decided mine was drunk drivers. It's because of the deaths, injuries and mayhem they cause and because they should be more accountable and more severely punished then what they are. Drunk drivers know that alcohol impairs judgement and that the odds of causing an accident are great. I think drunk drivers should be more responsible for their actions because no one forced them to drink so much and no one forced them to drive afterwards.

I just purchased a SIRIUS satellite radio for my lexus es300(2002) and I cant figure out where to put the antenne. The instructions say to run the wire under the rear windows rubber trim but the trim has NO room under it like most other vehicles do and I cant put it on my trunk because there is a stock spoiler that may interupt the reception, also the wire would be to short to run from the back of the car to the dash. Can anybody out there help?

We hear that Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express travel at a maximum speed of 140 km per hour, and ordinary trains dont travel more than 110 km per hour, even in electrified double line routes. And that too, not consistently. But in other countries like Europe and USA, 100 km per hour is considered "Dead Slow".
