We hear that Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express travel at a maximum speed of 140 km per hour, and ordinary trains dont travel more than 110 km per hour, even in electrified double line routes. And that too, not consistently. But in other countries like Europe and USA, 100 km per hour is considered "Dead Slow".

The answer before mine is great. I travelled on trains in India and it seemed there were more people on top of the train than inside of it.
