fuel system cleening?

Question

when you take it to a shop to get your fuel system cleened out what all do they do? i know it runs about $100 but what all do they cleened out be specfic. and will it give you beter MPG? note the car is 16 years old and has a 4 cyl 2.2L motor please thank you.

i forgot to add it has a TBI for the fuel

the main thing they do is run fuel injection cleaner through your injectors in very high concentrations. if you run a good gas all the time and keep your vehicle tuned correctly you wont notice much of a difference unless you have a very clogged injector
