I live in a cul-de-sac which is about 500 yards long and is a very steep, very narrow lane. For some time now, some Satellite Navigation systems have been sending vehicles up this lane to gain access to a village at the top. Some of these vehicles are very large lorries, which cannot turn in the lane and have to reverse down, which is very difficult for the drivers and very dangerous for any pedestrians, who cannot get out of the way because of the narrowness of the lane. I don't have Sat Nav myself and know nothing about it. Can anyone suggest how I can deal with this problem.

Many navigation systems use mapping information from Tele Atlas or Navteq, you could contact them and advise them of the problems being caused, which they will then correct on the next software update. Ask them who the other information suppliers are so that you can contact them as well, I dont expect they will share information!

Get onto your local authorities to get a sign put up that shows no through route to the village. Sat Nav is improving all the time, but still has a few bugs in it, such that it will direct vehicles to unsuitable routes.

You could ask your local council to intervene or by putting a sign at the end of your lane saying dead end or cul-de-sac etc.
