I just took my Clio 182 for its first service at 18 months, and 12,000 miles. Before the service according to the trip computer, I consistantly got 34.5 mpg. In the 150 miles I have done since the service, I have only managed 31.5 mpg. Has anyone else experienced this? Is therea logical explanation, or has the garage done something wrong?

could be a number of things, if the timing is slightly out, the fuel jets might not be sitting properly or even a hole in the fuel drum (unlikely, you'd have noticed lol)

Take it back to the dealership and ask what they worked on and if they can double check coz of the drop in mpg

as any engine begins to wear the mpg will be altered, take no notice of the answer about timing etc as on all modern cars the timing is controlled electronically anyway as most cars these days have coil packs and not distributors, also is it possible your driving style alters slightly ? in my professiona lexperiance a lot of people tend to drive slightly harder once a vehicle has been serviced although they dont notice it themsleves keep a log over a period of a month depending on how many miles your driving hoew many litres of fuel you use i would suggest you start with a mileage on half a tank of fuel then log the mileage you do each day til it goes back to the half way mark then work out how much fuel is half a tank then do some simple maths to work out fuel consumption, also the trip computer is only a rough guide it doesnt take in to account cold starting, syck in traffic etc

It will be because at some point during the service the engine will have been running in the workshop. As the car was stationary the MPG will go down. Reset the average MPG and see how it goes.
