The rear axle ratio for the truck I'm buying is offered in three configurations: 3.42 (standard), 3.73, 4.10. Which is best for everyday driving (no load)? Which is best for pulling a trailer/load?

Is there a time limit that the Safety Camera Partnershp have to adhere to between the offence and issuing the paperwork? Basically, someone told me they have 14 days to issue the ticket otherwise it's not valid - is this true?

Driving along yesterday down a hill about 27 mph when a dog runs out in front of car, we brake immediately and the dog runs off. We stop to find broken bonnet and spotlights about £500 - £800 pounds worth of damage. Called the police and spoke to the dog owner who slams door in our face. Dog was not on a lead the owner won't pay the damage, we could go through insurance but don't see why we should. Has anyone got any advice or how to deal with this situation.?

I was pulling up to a left turn lane to make a turn and the light was red so I pulled up behind the car in front of me like anyone else would. I came to a complete stop. (Normal stop as I was going the right speed limit) The car behind me completely not paying attention rear ends me which caused me to rear end the stopped car in front of me. Am I going to be at fault for the injuries and damage in the car in front of me since I hit her from being rear ended or will all the responsibility and fault go to the driver behind me? I am just worried because the lady I hit was pregnant and she hit her stomach on the steering wheel. Please only experienced advice apply?

My daughter (a nurse) bought a used Ford Focus Sept 2003 1.6 from a Ford dealer and they now tell her it needs a new "cat". I think they are trying to con her. How long in your experience do "cats" last.

I have a 2004 honda civic ex. I've been looking to lower it for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it. I need to find some relatively cheap lowering springs but I dunno where to look. I've tried honda forums and some aftermarket part sites like vividracing.com and overboost.com but no luck. I'm looking to lower it maybe 1.5 inches - 2 inches. If anyone knows of any good sites to check out let me know. Thanks!

The climate control fan on my 1999 Lincoln Town car is fluctuating quite a bit. It will start running at full speed for a couple of seconds, then go down to nothing. It will alternate between these two extremes randomly. Is there some sort of control module I could (easily) replace?

what problems can you get when u overfill ur engine oil more than the recommended? i did a DIY oil change last week using the 5w/40 Castrol GTX on my 1995 civic.it was a little over the maximum mark. my problem started when my engine light begun flashing while im driving, then it went steady on. i could hear a lashing noise from the engine, then the engine died. i thought the fan belt snapped or the aux fan but under the bonnet, everything was intact.
i rested the engine for a bit and came alive again, but still the engine warning light was on. is there too much pressure in the engine?how will i know the oil pump is broken?
any bit of help would be appreciated
tnx!

It's come to that time of year again when anyone who has front fogs feels that they need to have these permanently on when they've got their headlights on... WHY? It's so annoying and it can be blinding when you've got two sets of light beaming into your review mirror at the same time.

If there's anyone out there who does this, please have a heart and turn them off until it's foggy. Just because you've got them doesn't mean you have to use them all the time!

I faint at the sight of blood, should I stay and try to help, or do I just call 911 and wait for help? I couldn't live with myself if I just sat there while someone bled to death, but I'm physically unable to help. I saw a little fender bender today and it made me wonder.

On my way to work - as I was braking, my car started to vibrate, but it stopped as soon as I hit the gas, and I made it to work fine. When I took my lunch everything was fine until my way back and then the "service engine soon" light started flashing and everytime I slowed down I could feel the engine shimmy like it had done once earlier this morning. What's the deal?
