Heres a link to the firing order http://autorepair.about.com/library/firing_orders/bl-fo-3284.htm, if it doesn't help look the site over for what you're looking for, also the temp sensor should be a module sticking out of the water pump goose neck it should have 1 wire attached to it. Hope this helps

If you look at the spark plugs, you'll notice the ones on the front, one of those will be a little closer to the radiator than the other. If I'm not mistaken, on a Towncar it would be on the drivers side. That is cylinder 1. If it is on the drivers side like I think it is, front to rear on driver side will be cylinder #'s 1, 3, 5, &7 closest to the firewall, and the passenger side will be 2, 4, 6, &8.

have you ever observed a roughness in the working of the engine (I presume as theoleede does that that's a V-8)? Now that theo. has given you the order of numbering of the cylinders (we are hoping he's desirable), attempt removing the spark plug cord from that cylinder head and start up the engine up lower back. If the engine sounds and runs comparable to it did earlier, that's the undesirable plug or cord. If not, properly, as has been stated already, verify your proprietor's handbook.

my best suggestion would be to go to a local napa auto parts and ask them to purchase a book for you on your car...it will show you exactly where all of these things are in your engine...it's a rather thick book normally and very detailed....I've had a cylinder go bad and had to have one replaced...it's somewhere around the engine block that's really all I know.

They used to be marked on the intake manifold. Been a while since I've looked at a V-8, though.
