On my way to work - as I was braking, my car started to vibrate, but it stopped as soon as I hit the gas, and I made it to work fine. When I took my lunch everything was fine until my way back and then the "service engine soon" light started flashing and everytime I slowed down I could feel the engine shimmy like it had done once earlier this morning. What's the deal?

It's a 98 Olds Intrigue. Some people have said it may be a spark plug, someone said it could be a broken motor bracket????

Do to the lack of information I can not be accurate. It could be a miss on one of the cylinders, Could be a weak fuel pump. Could be a clogged injector, could be the toqure converter (if it's an automatic) could be a bad or worn motor mount, could be bad fuel, clogged fuel filter, could be a stuck choke. But again with the information you gave I can not be sure.

Its probably about to get the flu and is shaking because it feels cold. (just kidding).
Not a lot of info. here, however, It looks like there is a significant problem given that your service engine light is flashing.

As a general rule, the service engine light will lit steady when the computer detects a problem that should be taken care of at your earliest convenience, and will flash when the problem requires immediately attention. Check your owners manual, it is likely that you should stop driving the car and get a qualified tech. to look at it before further damage occurs.

sounds like its either a caliper hanging up or a bad rotor.by your light coming on it might have something to do with your abs,if you got anti-lock brakes.
