I called a body shop for an estimate and the first thing he asked is if I'm paying for it or an insurance co....RED FLAG! why does it matter? Is the quality of work going to be substandard (if insurance pays) or excellent if I was going to pay for it on my own? I want the best quality work done since the guy who hit me, his insurance is gonna pay, not no short-cuts so his insurance doesn't pay too much.

Every Sunday I see ads for new vehicles that are thousands of dollars off the MSPR. I saw an ad in last Sunday's paper for 2006 or 2007 Ford Explorer for a little for than $21,000 the MSPR about $26,000. The ad mentioned that there were only two at this price and that the price included a $5,000 rebate. I realize that there may only be one or two at this price.

Do I just have to be the first person on the lot Sunday morning to get this vehicle or is this a sham? I really want to know if it's worth my time.

We have a 2000 Mazda MPV and two children. My 6-yr-old DD (53 lbs and 49" tall) is in a Graco Turbobooster (using it with the highback) and my 3 1/2-yr-old DS (34 lbs. and 41" tall) is in a Graco CarGo using the 5-pt harness. We never installed tether anchors in the van (I know, I know... bad us!) so I'm thinking of having the dealer install it now for my DS's seat. Also, I saw that the Britax Regent is to be used with children up to 53" tall so would it be a waste to purchase one for my DD when she's 4" away from the limit? Or should I go ahead and leave her in the booster and get a Regent for my DS since he has to get a new 5-pt soon anyway (the CarGo says to stop using 5-pt harness when child reaches 40 lbs and the shoulders are above the upper harness slots...but he is is nowhere near either yet anytime soon)?

I've been thinking of buying my first car, so that I can keep my driving skills up to par. I live in London and I'm a student, so I'm thinking of buying an electric car in order to avoid paying the congestion charge.

I'm just concerned with the safety of electric cars since they are so small.

Are they as safe as normal cars?

I just purchased a 1987 Bass Tracker Bass Boat and I am looking for suggestions and information on Anchors that actually will hold the boat when the wind is blowing. I fish at Silverwood Lake in Hesperia CA, and the wind can get pretty bad at times.

I am not sure of the weight of the boat, but since the boat is only a aluminum boat it should not be too bad.

I need something that will hold no matter what. A big bonus would be a anchor winch that will be able to support this type of anchor. The anchormate series can only handle a 18lb anchor and uses a type of crank that is completely different that what is already on the boat.

If anybody has any suggestions or help, thank you.

Alright, I heard that DC current flows from negative to postive, but a car battery flows from postive to negative. Is this correct or is it neg. to pos. on both?

My fiancee was invloved in an accident where the fault was clearly a Geico customer's fault. I have nothing against geico and I'm sure they have low rates but her car was totaled and the police report specified that it was the other drivers fault. We need money to buy a new car and it is seemingly impossible to get them to cough it up without getting involved in an expensive lawsuit or signing a paper that puts the fault partially on my fiancee. We even have a witness that verifies the liability of the other party but our lawyer says that it doesnt matter unless we go to court. does anyone have any advice?
