I would recommend NOT disconnecting the batter, but pull the fuse in the alarm circuit. That will silence it until you can find out why it is firing off.

If it does it when there is NO one around, it may be two way radios turning it on. Look around your neighborhood for towers with big antennas on them. It may be ANY type two way radio doing it, such a police or even a cell phone.

I would contact the maker of the alarm and talk with them about your problem. Also read the manual. Good luck. Pops

Your A4 has a motion detector which can be switched off from the drivers door pillar its a small rocker switch.Look in your hand book you will see it there.Do not disconnect the battery this can lead to more problems. If this fails you have a diagnostic port on the rear foot well you need to get a code read out from it to lead you in the direction of fault.Regards Mick UK own and work on Audi.

Most alarm installers set the motion detector to a ridiculously sensitive degree. Just have some one who is knowledgeable set it to where you don't have the alarm going off when a truck goes by or a cat jumps on your hood.

I had the same problem. It eventually turned out to be a microwave oven inside the house which was setting it off. Try parking in a different place and see if you still have the same problem. If it goes away look for where the interferance was coming from. If you do still have the same problem its probably the sensor in the car.

your motion sensors are gone , they are the things that sit up in the corner of the car like micro phones.you will have to replace them there very cheap to buy eBay is the cheapest starting from around 10 quid.you might have a switch inside the car to turn them of on the dash somewhere.... good luck ;) PS if there is a button hold it in for 5 secs to disarm them but you will have to do this every time you lock the car ....

i would suggest disconnecting the wires from the alarm system rather than disconnecting your car battery. it woulb be alot easier for you in the long run.

good luck.

my son had a very sleek sports car that did that only problem was it was parked up on my drive the alarm was to sensitive i watched to see what was setting it off,and found it was a motor bike he drove past on his way home and figured out if he reved up as he went past it set alarm off each time he went past it happened so we got the alarm altered and when he was due to drive past next the alarm did not go off the bike rider nearly fell off turning around as he went past because he didn't set it off.
