I have a 96 SUV that has had its share of problems. Every week or so I have to refill the coolant beacuse it is almost bone dry... my garage floor is covered in coolant (yes I finally put a drip pan down). My car overheats repeatedly and I'm not sure if its related but a couple times a week when I shift into park the rpm's shoot up to 2.5 and it sounds like I'm flooring it. (also idles around 2) When that happens my car coasts like its still in gear, which I'm pretty sure it is. Do I need a new radiator? Temerapture gauge? What should I do?

mechanic says the 'sloshing liquid' sound is because my head gasket's "gone" (not pressurised??)
I gather its a £200+ job which I cant afford
I check the water regularly & always carry a bottle of water.
My longest journey is likely to be about 60mile round trip (maybe once every couple of months) otherwise its more like 5 - 15.
whats my worse case scenario if i dont get it done?

You know, when the CD is on and the radio interrupts with the traffic report. Does someone at the radio station press a switch to send out a signal or something?

At my last oil change, they said I had no oil after 3 months and to keep an eye on it. It's been 2 months and my oil is almost gone again. It's not leaking on the ground. I have a 2000 Honda Civic. Do you know where the oil is going? My engine sounds like it is getting loud- almost like a muffler sounds when it's going. Thanks for any input!

This happened three weeks ago and then the engine light came on, car started bucking, took it to the shop, had computer replaced for $1,100. Two days after getting the car back, the car and battery both died, which blew out the computer again. Replaced the computer a second time. Now 4 days after getting the car back again, the oil pressure light is once again flickering. It only does this after the car is warmed up and when I brake or put it in park. I have kept up on oil changes and have not changed the type/weight of oil I've been putting in for 2 years now. Any clue to what it could be?

The car is in my grandmom's name who is deseaced. When she first died, we did all the paper wrk to have the title changed to my name. I have a copy of the paper work she filled out, but the state did not make the change correctly. (I was told to go right back in to fix it but procrastinated) She's now been dead for at least 3 years so the notary said they can't refile the paperwork (even though I have the carbon copies of the filing) with out her original death certificate b/c it looks shady. My Aunt is in California and is having a hard time locating it. Is there anyway around this? We are limited on parking and I need the car sold yesterday.

OK, this could be sexist but could be fun too. I do think women are safer drivers but on the ad, the driver's leaning over the seat whilst driving at speed, mucking around with a map and sitting on the back seat while an uninsured, underaged kangaroo is doing the driving. I'd like to see the words 'school-run', '4x4' and middle-class git with more money than sense in your lyrics although that's not really important.

Does anyone out there know if it would be worth it to rebuild a 1971 ford ltd. It's in good shape only needs a paint job and a carb. Probally some fine tuning here and there. My dad gave it too me when I got married and its been sitting in the garage for almost 7 years. It sat in his garage for 10 prior. It does start and it does run. I want to either fix it and keep it or sell it as-is and get it out of my life. If I sold it how much would I ask for? If I fixed it how much would it be worth?

I've seen an article http://www.motorbike-news.co.uk/latest-news/off-road-registration/news.aspx?item=173 about making off road bikes be registered and wondered what you thought? I bought my son a mini moto last Christmas and a midi for this and would welcome be legal and proper off road as long as the RMIF factor in kids are riding these bikes.

When driving my car (2000 Chevy Cavalier LS), I hear a squeaking sound (like wet rubbers rubbing against each other) coming from the front suspension. When I described the symptoms to my father, he said it was probably strut rubbers coming out of alignement (he doesn't speak English, so I don't know how well I translated these terms).
Can anybody give me a ballpark estimate how much might it cost to fix it? I mean, are we talking a couple of hundreds, several hundreds, thousands? I don't want to waste my time getting a mechanic's estimate if I won't be able to afford it at this time.
