If your belt is making noise and you think it is loose, forget it,you brobably need a new belt. serpentine belts use the ribbed and flat side to turn all of the accesories and is tensioned automaticaly
by the tensioner that can lose tension. If the belt makes noise, check for glazed areas on the flat side and missing or dry
ribs on the underside. If you think the tensioner is bad, replace it and also replace the belt and check for pully alingment. most often the belt will wear out befor the tensioner.with the belt off check any idler pullys, make sure they spin freely
