Could be a fuse or it might be dodgy connection somewhere

well the car won`t start becouse the fuel pump isn`t comming on
witch makes me wonder why you changed the pump in the first place. did you have a no start condition to begin with? changing a fuel pump is not normal maintenace. can you supply year make and model

How about some more info. Year, make of car, fuel pump/sending unit in-tank?

You need 12 volts (probably, depending on vehicle) and a good ground.

And careful with the sparks and arching, you are dealing with gasoline!
