CHECKED OIL SAID IT WAS EMPTY( HAD PUT A QUART IN TWO DAYS AGO IT WAS LOW ON THAT DAY) PUT ONE QUART IN.THEN. DROVE FOR ABOUT FIVE MILES THE WHOLE CAR SHUT DOWN , HE SAID HE KEEP TRING TO START IT. THEN HE PUT MORE WATER AND OIL IN IT WHENT ABOUT EIGHT MORE MILES CAR SHUT DOWN AGAIN. A FRIEND THEN GOT A HOSE AND FIXED IT PUT MORE WATER AND OIL IN IT, THEN DROVE ABOUT THREE MILES TO MY HOUSE. If a car is turned off (say you're sitting at a railroad crossing and shut the engine off) and a car hits you, will the airbags still go off?

The noise is something like if you take a ruler, put it on a desk with half of it hanging over the edge of the desk, then press it tightly against the desk with one hand, and lightly bend the loose end with the other hand and let go.

I have a 2005 VW Jetta and I need new wiper blades desperately. I got some Michelin High Performance wipers a WalMart, but neither me nor my father can figure out how to get them on as the hole in the middle that attaches the blade to the arm is too small. What should I do? Should I try VIP or another parts place, or call up the dealership (dread) and see what they say?

I'm curious: What is the most number of lanes ever attempted for a highway or freeway? Is there a practical limit? What governs the limit -- are there engineering reasons or just that no one needs a 24 lane highway (or can spare the land)? Is there at some point a diminishing rate of returns in terms of traffic throughput/bandwidth? (Sorry for the geek terms)

Qualifier: This is the number of lanes a highway has over the long haul not counting merge lanes and exits and so forth, including both directions of traffic.

I'm going to guess that no one has attempted more than 16, and that virtually no highways have more than 12.

I am planning to book a drivers test and I am trying to find out how many mistakes you can make on either your G1 Road Test or your G2 Road Test. I was told on your G2 Road Test you can make up to 30 mistakes. Not sure how many you can make on yoru G1 Road TEst.

Does anyone know?

I own a 1997 Kia Sportage and today I've discovered some trouble going on. The engine throttle sounds different than usual. There is no evidence of any leakage anywhere...in fact, all of the fluids are fine. I just got the oil changed two weeks ago. Besides the engine throttle, the car is not going up to a decent speed when I step on the gas, especially if I'm going uphill. I'm not sure whether my rpm is higher than normal because when I drove it with this problem, I was checking the temperature to make sure that my engine doesn't overheat, which it didn't. I'm guessing something is wrong with my automatic transmission, but I can't make sure. I drive this thing every day from work (I put almost 150 miles per day on it) and currently there are about 118500 miles on the engine. I stopped at the rest area and let it sit idle for a few minutes. When I got back on the road, it drove much better than before, but it still had trouble going uphill like before.
