I own a 1997 Kia Sportage and today I've discovered some trouble going on. The engine throttle sounds different than usual. There is no evidence of any leakage anywhere...in fact, all of the fluids are fine. I just got the oil changed two weeks ago. Besides the engine throttle, the car is not going up to a decent speed when I step on the gas, especially if I'm going uphill. I'm not sure whether my rpm is higher than normal because when I drove it with this problem, I was checking the temperature to make sure that my engine doesn't overheat, which it didn't. I'm guessing something is wrong with my automatic transmission, but I can't make sure. I drive this thing every day from work (I put almost 150 miles per day on it) and currently there are about 118500 miles on the engine. I stopped at the rest area and let it sit idle for a few minutes. When I got back on the road, it drove much better than before, but it still had trouble going uphill like before.
